Renigate bandits

Papa and Henry doing what Henry loves best, swinging...
No folks Matt is not high, I just caught him looking up. Look at Henry, so intent on his dogs.

Lucy after a romp around the tree.

Wanted Dead or Alive: Crazy hunting hound. Found: One crazy hunting hound:)!!!

So I don't even know if I spelled the words right, but Bailey and Lucy were having quit the time tonight chasing each other around liked crazed maniacs. Bailey had to be put in prison for a while because he just couldn't settle down. I think everyone is getting the itch for warm weather again. We got such a short glimpse then it was gone.
So I am getting ready for my trip out west this weekend. It will be the longest that I've been away from Henry, and I'm having mixed emotions. I leave early Saturday morning 6am or so and return home 6 or 7pm on Sunday. I know it's short, but I don't want to drag Henry all that way, but I can't stand to be away from my baby cousins either!
Henry is again cutting teeth one on the bottom and one or two more on the top. We can't really get inside to investigate because he promptly chomps down on our fingers like a trash compactor. He is being quit the grizzle bear, BUT he can now roll from front to back and back to front so he's getting around pretty well when he's not whiny and crabby.

Grass is so sweet

Henry really enjoys being outside. He loves to feel the cool breeze on his cheeks. I suppose he can't quit place where it's coming from, so it's probably pretty interesting. Today he got to sit outside watch his papa mow the lawn and play with his favorite puppies Luc and Bails. Henry's Grandma Linda is also down to watch Henry tomorrow. It took him only a moment to remember who she was then he was waving his little chubs at her and talking up a storm. Henry is most definitely going to walk before he crawls. He can hold himself on his toys now and loves to pretend that he can maybe walk around his toys. He has yet to accomplish this feat but has tried many a time. However, Henry has developed what we refer to as sass. He throws sass around quit a bit now like when he takes his afternoon nap and when he wants to hold his own spoon to feed himself or when he wants to continue to drink out of his bottle even though it's empty. He throws his whole body into it...he'll whine or kick. His favorite is when I am trying to change his diaper. He all of a suddent becomes interested in what's above him on the bed or wants to roll over to watch something really interesting....where o where did my little boy go?

A perfect day..

The weather has been and is going to continue to be gorgeous this week. I am making it my mission to get outside, get walking, and get some great outdoor pictures of my family. Auntie Lindsey was down babysitting Henry today. He had a wonderful time with her. He was as loud as could be and is now saying papa, mum, puppies, and bye-bye and waving. That coupled with his ever growing cheeks makes him about the most delicious thing there is in life.

Oh Happy Day

Henry is becoming quit the acrobat. He loves to throw himself backwards and watch the world go by upside down. It must put an interesting spin on life or something. He's actually quit fearless in that respect. I caught him standing by a toy and just completely let go and promptly almost crash head first to the floor. I had a pull a superwoman to cushion the blow, but he went about life as if nothing major had just happened. What I don't get is then how come he FREAKS out if I accidently bump his head ever so softly when getting him in or out of the car. He acts as if I was physically tormenting him or something. What gives, kid? Oh and one for the books. You know you spend too much time with your kid when you start asking your 10 month old son if this purse looks good on mom. I was chatting away unaware with Henry in Target the other day when this nice older lady walked by while I was asking Henry which purse color I should go with next, she sort of gave me this look like, humm...what is up with this new generation of moms...humm...remind me NOT to be like that when I get old..

Weeeee....

I recently discovered Henry's love of the swing on a random chance encounter at Menards. They apparantly set up an entire play system by the gardening center. While Matt was shopping for who knows what, Henry and I meandered into this amazing oasis. I plopped him in the baby swing and away we went giggles, screeches, and all. I was telling Grandma Linda this story, and we just had to go find a baby swing to put on their ancient play system. Luckily, good old WalMart came through for us. As soon as we got home, we just had to try it out for ourselves, and Henry did not fail to entertain. He loved his Uncle Jason pushing his sooo high on the swing.

Happy Easter

Yes, I know a little late, but better late then never, right? We had a VERY laid back relaxing Easter weekend. You know those weekends where you wouldn't take back anything or do it differently? This was one of those weekends. On Sunday, we went to church and headed to Sioux Falls to see Grandpa Ken and Aunt Teresa. All of the furkids were present as well and ran around like old times. We even got a good card game going, and I didn't totally suck this time, OK maybe a little but I'm getting better.

A day in the life

The infamous cuz toy. Many a rough mouth has attempted to destroyed this beast, all have failed. It is a tough dude despite it's small stature.

Oh Papa, loves him some dinking around time...

While Henry sleeps, the world still turns, much to his dismay. The dogs get their dose of love and Papa gets to play.

My first born

So, I have been feeling super neglectful of my first baby, and I think he's starting to rebel. Before Henry came along and even before Miss Luc came along there was Bailey the mighty hunting hound. He had scrapbooks and photos all over the wall. He was the man, my love, and papa's pride and joy. Now, poor bails hound is moping around kind of living life on his own terms. The poor dog went from being #1 to being maybe number 3 or 4. Has this ever happened to any of you? I mean I love my dog, but my son will always come first.

For Jordan's sake...

Mainly I am posting to get Jordan's comments on my crude attempts at photography and editing and also to let Grandma Linda see some pics of Henry while she's in Germany. Henry is proving to be a tough subject. Never wanting to look into the camera and trying to fall and hurt himself while mom is trying to get some pics. I am going to try tub pictures tonight and maybe some outdoor ones tomorrow. Spring is finally here!!! Hip Hip Hurray....I decided that Matt has his snowmobiling, hunting, and 4 wheeling, I can have my photography, right ladies?

My first attempt

So here's my first attempt with Jordan's camera to capture true memories of Henry's life. I have her borrowed camera in hand and a free downloaded editing software. Wow, how more ghetto can you get!!!

Lil' Mr. Farmer

So, like I've posted about previously, I have started to take a serious liking to photography. I will more than likely never be as good as my friend Jordan nor have the camera that Patty does, but I do still enjoy trying out my artistic ability. Patty and I worked on some poses for Henry for his 9 month pictures. I thought they turned out pretty nice. We took them at Matt's parents house, and it really was a beautiful backdrop. I know that someday Henry will look back on these photos, especially the ones with Matt's dad, and have very fond memories of many summers spend running around after grandpa and the dogs. I just can't wait!!!

Photogenic

So, I am attempting to take some real photos of Henry not just snapshots. I don't think I have the camera for it, but am making due with what I have at the moment. I just enjoy capturing all of Henry's milestones and the little things he does during the day that make me fall even deeper with love with the little guy. One of Henry's many favorite activites is looking out the window. We have a large door that is all glass that he loves to sit in front of and check out the cars and people as they go by. So I was attempting to take some photos of him checking things out. Henry is doing so well despite his supposed lack of progress. He can get on all 4's now and it's a matter of time before he's crawling. The physical therapist told us he's perfect and because of his size might just do things a little later. He doesn't have to go back for any more therapy! Whooo hoooo...

A weekend with Grandma and Nick

Henry is showing Grandma Kim his new toy. He is sooo big and can stand and play now.
Henry and Harry the westie, best friends forever, maybe!?

Henry is sooo big. He can feed himself with a sippy cup and loves Chevy's just like his mom and dad!

Uncle Nick and Henry reading an Easter book. Henry is in love with his uncle!

Henry finally got to see his Grandma Kim and Uncle Nick after suffering from a double ear infection two weeks back, we were unable to make it to Iowa, so Grandma and Nick made the journey to Vermillion this weekend. They also brought their puppy, Harry the Westie, with them. Henry thought Harry was pretty darn cool and Harry wanted to attack Henry with licks, so it was an interesting visit to say the least. It's so funny to watch Henry when Nick comes. I don't know what it is with him, but Henry just can't stop smiling when Nick is in the room. And I can't believe my brother. He's 14, taller than I am, skinny as a rail, and got an amazingly adorable hair cut this weekend. Is adorable the right word for a 14 year old? Maybe handsome or debonair is a better word. To say the least, I feel old when I am around him, but very proud to say I had a hand in raising such an awesome young man.
