Lil' buddies

Did someone say puppies????
"Hey Henry," "Hey Maverick, what's up buddy? It's been a while..."

Henry had his buddy Maverick over today. We are learning a little something about Henry. He dosen't share the spotlight very well, but are any of us really surprised. I appreciate Maverick's mommy, Kathy, for being so patient with Henry today. Maverick is 4 1/2 months older than Henry, and is such a little man on the go. He's got such great balance and cruises around with such ease. He helped me child proof my house today. It was very helpful! Thanks dude!!

It's so hard once you have a child to try and make time to see all of your friends and family. I feel so bad as we haven't seen Maverick in such a long time. It's all about balance, right ladies?

Up close and personal

I am going to eat you my pretty...

Yes, I know, I have been blogging with increased frequency lately, but Henry's one year birthday is drawing closer, and I would just hate to miss capturing all of his curiousity this first year. Henry and I enjoyed a special moment between mother and son this morning as we gazing outside our living room window at the birdies and 3 little rabbits that made their home on our front yard. Matt kept shouting that he was going to let Lucy free on them, but they managed to run away before Matt could unleash the beast. Do not let his innocent face fool you, as soon as he realized that I had my favorite gadget present, that open mouth wasn't a cute look but rather a hungry monster face that would soon try to devour my camera moments after this capture.

Gramma and Grampa

bath...check....baba..check....pure bliss with gramma and grampa...check!!!
Grampa's lil' man..oh Henry...too soon you'll be grampa's little shadow..mama cannot wait...

Hi, yeah, so there are these two AMAZING people in Henry's life known as gramma and grampa. I don't know if there are any two people on the planet besides Matt and myself that love Henry as much as these two individuals. Who might I be referring to...why...it's gramma and grampa Schulte. Not to leave the other grandparents out by any means. I just get more photo time with these two. Henry has sooo much family both near and far that love this lil' guy. Again, I don't know if it's just me being hormonal but gosh darn it, to all the parents out there, my heart just swells for this lil' man everyday.

This weekend we travel to cousin Sara's graduation in Des Moines, IA. Henry is as always excited to see more family and be loved up and entertain, something he does best. His newest trick is pee-a-boo. He throws his lil' chubs over his eyes and just giggles and hisses like a snake through his two front teeth.

A day at the park

Henry on the horsie...I took this picture very quickly as he was starting to lose his balance..
Yes, folks, this is a swing for little kids..I know..I know..what the heck, right?

Bailey always wants to be close to Henry and I while we are out walking such a good boy!

Henry LOVES to go to the park and swing and slide down the slide with mom, but I think he mostly likes going to check out what the other kids are doing. I could not for the life of me get him to look at me to take a picture of him, but Henry had a fabulous time pretending he was a big boy. I think he sees the other kids running around and playing, and he really wants to be a part of the action. I cannot wait to see his little chubby legs and hands climbing all over the play equipment and running around laughing with the other kids. It makes my heart swell thinking of it. Happy Memorial Day! May we also remember our soldiers fighting for the rights we hold dear and for those we have lost....

So curious...

Look at all those toofers, still 8 in total. I was expecting 10 by now but they haven't poked through quit yet...
Godfather Brian with Henry...Henry LOVES his beard...

I don't know if I have ever seen such a happy baby...I love you bubba!

Uncle Jay was revving his dad's 4 wheeler and Henry thought that was pretty cool...

Henry loves to be at grandma and grandpa ken and Linda's because inevitably mom will want to take some cute outdoorsy photos and Henry will then get a chance to eat dirt, sticks, leaves, and grass. What more could a boy ask for, right? He thinks that sticking rocks in his mouth is really funny. Mom on the other hand doesen't find the choking hazard so funny.

Matt's parents house is a photographers best dream, at least for me the novice beginner. Henry was very entertained by uncle Jay and godfather Brian while mom captured some precious moments.

Matt almost had Henry crawling last night on the kitchen table until the inevitable clunk of the nose on the wood ensued. Henry has the most pitiful cry ever you just want to cry with the little guy. He's ever so close to either walking or crawling, we can't tell which is to come first.

I also purchased a camera case yesterday. One step closer to becoming a real photographer or rather one step in the right direction to keeping my camera around for a little longer. I'm not the most coordinated of individuals. I must say that I am truly loving learning about photography, but I can't seem to find a good book to seat down and devore about the subject. Any ideas???

100% Boy

So I have no worries that Henry isn't going to be daddy's little man. He is already infatuated with vroom vroom vrooming his toys around all over the place and crashing them into each other. I found him playing by himself with these two cars just goin' to town with the sound effects. I tear up as I see him...so big and lookin' so handsome. I could just be hormonal today, but I just grow more in love with both of my boys everyday. It's just amazing to be a mom...and scary, and tiring but mostly amazing...hahaha...

Almost there...

"Mooommmm....I don't want to grow up because I'm a toys r us kid!" No child was injured in the making of this picture despite the pitiful look...
Henr is very proud of his new found rolling freedom...Mom, maybe not so much!

Henry is just so darn close to getting up on all fours. He has totally mastered the crawling as I've stated in previous posts and last night went one furthur. Matt and I were sitting at the kitchen table eating supper and looked over to see our 11 month old son rolling around all over the floor. He managed to roll himself over to my bench and drag the blanket off along with the decorative

pillows. Maybe I'm rethinking this crawling/walking thing. My house is never going to be the same. It also was really warm in Vermillion yesterday, and I dressed him up in this adorable tank top outfit. I LOVE summer clothes..too cute!!! We have less than a month until the big 1 year birthday. My lil' guy isn't so little anymore, and I'm kinda having a hard time dealing with...

A baby Henry and family...

Henry with Grandpa Jeff...
Lil' feet! This is the oldest, still in use, highchair ever, it's origins are back to the caveman days!

Great grandma keeping an ever watchful on her lil' guy!

Life coming full circle...a grandchild in one hand and a great grandchild in another...

Gavin with Aunt Kim..he's gettin' so big!

Henry got to see more family this weekend. Aunt Steph, Cousin Gage and Carson, and Aunt Pam came from out west as well as Grandma Kim, Grandpa Jeff, and Uncle Nick from Iowa. Aunti Katelyn was also back from Minnesota! We all congregated in Madison for some much needed time together.

Henry continues to be in LOVE with his great grandma Lois and she with him. I think that great grandpa Harold also thinks Henry's pretty cool! He got to spend some time with Grandpa Jeff hangin' out and be a part of the growing number of cousins running around. He was in heaven!
Henry is getting so close to wanting to walk on his own. We were trying out standing on his own and he could for a few seconds before falling on me. The crawling, not so much, but man this kid is gonna start running soon. I can't wait. Grandma Linda and I went rummaging in Sioux Falls on Friday. I had a total BLAST. We found some amazing buys including a pool we are gonna blow up this week, toys, and many cute clothes. Gotta love cheap buys!!

Curiousity never hurt anyone, right?

So we are learning ucky...every time I set Henry down in the grass he reaches for whatever grass, twig, or dirt might be handy. I have been teaching his ucky and tossing the object out of his hand. He's got the ucky part down but says it while putting it IN his mouth. Oh boy! We could be in for it. He's such a smart little bugger though. The other day we were reading a book with a picture of a baby on every page. He would point to the baby and say baby. Really, at 11 months, you can talk clearly and understand pictures but you aren't crawling...humm..I don't get it?

Mother's Day

Great-grandma Artis Walton, Matt's grandma
Grandma Kim and Henry playing vroom vroom together...

Great-grandma Lois, Henry is seriously in love with this woman...

So I have seen some wonderful posts on amazing Mothers Day gifts and scavenger hunts, unfortunately, my first Mother's Day did not turn out so well...Long story, but we ended up at the Taco Bell drive thru need I say more...We saw tons of family over the weekend though including my own mommy, whom I don't see enough of. Henry was on full show off mode for her and my grandparents. Clapping, doing so big, and laughing. He's like the dog that does the same three tricks for treats without being asked.

Matt's family had some suprise visitors including his mom's mom, sister, and brother in law. It was great to see everyone and to have my first Mother's Day with my boy!!!!!!

So big...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE his charming grin in this one..my lil' ladies man...
Henry is SOO big...

Henry has three tricks he's learned and truly has them mastered. You can ask him, how big are you Henry? and he'll lift his little chubby hands high above his head and giggle. He can clap his hands like crazy, and can wave hi and bye bye. He loves to say dada and mama. My lil' guy is seriously growing way to fast. How do I stop this train???

We have lift off

Henry has decided that instead of crawling, he's going to roll everywhere. And let me tell you, he can ROLL...on every kind of surface and to anything he wants. He's also cutting teeth and crabby as a crab!

Micro Mini Vacation

Baby Gavin and mom...
If I didn't know better, I would say he's smiling...

So I took my first trip away from Henry over the weekend. I did amazingly well until about 30 minutes from Sioux Falls, and then I started to panick realizing how much I missed my lil' guy. He did great, of course, he was with grandma and grandpa Ken and Linda and Papa. His cousin's came over to play. I don't think he could have had a better time.

I took the time away to visit our newest family member on the George side, Gavin Harold Scott. He was such a tiny little bugger at 5 weeks old! I had a really relaxing time with my aunt and uncle and Gage. He was quit the entertainer! It's so amazing to think that in 2 short years Henry will be running around playing monster trucks and talking up a storm. Here are some moments from the weekend.
