Sunday we headed to Lake Vermillion just west of Sioux Falls for the annual Schulte Family summer picnic. There were probably 50-75 people present including lots of little ones to entertain Henry. He had such a great time playing cards with aunt Teresa and grampa Ken, riding in his wagon with cousin Sadie, and walking around with uncle Dennis. With only a few minor meltdowns, I would say Sunday was a success! We even enjoyed the rocky beach with neon green water. And mom and dad got a little boat ride sans Henry.
Henry was diagnosed last week with viral e. ecoli. It's not the bad life threatening kind, but there is nothing we can give him besides push fluids and watch for changes. Poor little guy! He is still showing symptoms, but they are slowly getting less frequent. He still crawls around and eats like nothing is wrong. Henry now stands by himself for a good 30 seconds and really really wants to walk. We are not sure what is holding him back but eagerly await the day he takes those first independent steps.
