I won't get all sentimental yet, as I am exhausted from the great weekend, and it's not actually Henry's BIRTHday yet, BUT the time is coming, and I'm sure there will be a photo session or two to capture all of his special parts before his grows up to big to want to be around mom! For now, enjoy all the special moments with Henry from the weekend.

Happy Second Birthday Henry...a little early!
Have I mentioned lately how lucky Henry is? He's got so many family members that want to celebrate his birth that he has to have 2 birthday parties. We got together with my family this weekend to celebrate my and Henry's birthday early as June tends to be a busy month for everyone. Henry had such a great time entertaining. His real personality is starting to come out, and I can tell that he'll be quit the entertainer!

He shoots, he scores...
So my little guy is really into "baketball". Every time he sees a basketball or a basketball hoop he get's all excited and starts hopping around and pointing saying "baketball mommy!" So naturally we had to get him one, right? In the first 24 hours of arrival the entire basketball hoop fell on his head and the dogs ate his basketball. Geezz....but it didn't phase him, thank god for little boys!

If you ask Henry...
what the wheels on the bus do, he'll say, "go round and round". If you ask Henry what the mama's on the bus say, he'll answer, "shhh...shhh". If you ask Henry what the babys on the bus say, he'll say, "waa..waa". If you ask Henry to count to 10, he'll exclaim, "1, 2, free, 4, 5, 6, 789, 10" If you ask Henry was he sings at school, he'll answer, "a, b, c, d!" And to think, all of this from a kid who didn't walk until last September. So to quote Talladega Nights and Ricky Bobby, "who's retarded now???"
Henry has been growing both in the literal sense and the learning sense by leaps and bounds the last 2 or 3 months. Even visually, he looks more like a little boy than a baby anymore. I have to say, I attribute this to his new preschool, and of course his wonderful friends and family that have encouraged all of his new motor skills to bloom.
I was reading in my Parenting magazine this week that children who attend daycare are more adaptable to their environment, have better social skills, and are just as close to their parents as kids who stay at home. This certainly makes me feel better about going back to work. Henry is thriving in his new environment, and I couldn't be more proud and thankful that we made the leap to the new school.
Just like Henry, my Irisis are blooming and looking amazing!

Henry the artist and green thumb!

So apparantly my little boy is quit the artist at school, who knew? I can't get him to color for more than 30 seconds without trying to digest large amounts of crayon into his system. Side note, it's ok when the colors come out intact on the other end, or so Ask A Nurse wants you to believe! They even planted what I believe will grow to be grass??? It's so cute there are these little green leaves sticking out the top.
Henry has been LOVING school. He even takes 2 hours naps there on a cot in a room with 13 other kids and three teachers. Can you believe it? I think it will help tremendously as we transition him to a toddler bed soon. He even falls asleep on the couch with me at night now! My heart swells everytime he crawls up next to me with his blankies and paci and says, "nite mama, love you." Then he has to give Matt kisses and hugs then I get more hugs and kisses.
My work week goes really fast. It's great having Tuesdays off as it breaks up my week, and I never have to work more than 3 days in a row. The ladies I work with are a hoot, and the doctores are great. It's so nice working with people that actually want to HELP others.
